ALERT: LA Motorcyclist Only Checkpoints - ENDED
LOUISIANA ALERT POSTED 10/6/2009 - ENDED ON 10/24.
The La Salle Parish sheriff and local police chiefs have published a PANIC announcement to citizens that there were going to be hundreds of members of outlaw motorcycle gangs riding into the area, and asked the citizens to keep a close eye on anyone wearing vests with patches, and motorcyclists with tattoos.
There are also reports of motorcyclists being stopped and questioned about where they are going to and who they are seeing. It is possible that these are motorcyclist only checkpoints, which should be considered unlawful profiling.
Poet from ABATE of LA is checking into this, is in contact with authorities at high levels in state government, and is taking action to determine what the extent of this profiling and discrimination is, firsthand.
