Q. I would like to upload a photo of my B.O.L.T. helmet but I cant?
A. It depends on what you want to do.
If you want to upload a photo for your user profile you should be able to, but you'll need to reduce the size to 85 x 85 pixels or 30 kb, which isn't very big, so it probably needs to be reduced quite a bit. When I reduce pictures to make them smaller, I don't have any fancy photoshop kind of software but the MS Windows Paint program works easily enough. In Paint, I click on Image, then Stretch/Skew and reduce the picture by a percent at a time until it's the size I need.
If you are writing an article in the forum, there's the subject, then the article, and below it, click on file attachments.
There are some html techniques to do this, but it requires the photo to be posted somewhere on the internet. If someone has some htm skills and wants to, they can post a photo in the gallery, find out the url properties of the photo, and use html to show the photo from the gallery. To do html, when creating or editing the article you are writing, click on Input format and select Full html.
Okay, I know that does not sound very user friendly. Sorry. I'll have to work on setting up an easy way for people not familiar with html.
If you want to upload a picture to the gallery, on the upper right part of the website, click on Gallery. This is fairly complex software, so we haven't got it integrated with the website software yet, which is also complex software, so it has a different login.. yeah, I know....with all the websites we all use nowadays, having another user account is not something I look forward to either, and it's lousy to not have it integrated. Maybe we can do it sometime. Anyhow, the software itself is really cool, but there is a little bit of work to getting the account set up. Like the web site, you have to register and then confirm via an email, but then you will be able to log in whenever and use the gallery.
In the upper left, you might see Home | Register | Login
If you do not, just position your mouse cursor over that little icon of a house. That should get it to display. Click on Register. You shoud see Terms and Conditions. Click on I agree, then set up your account. After filling in your username, password, and email address, click on submit. The screen shoud see: "Thank you for registering. An email with information on how to activate your account was sent to the email address you provided." So, retrieve the email and log in. Again, if the Home | Register | Login is not displayed, just position your cursor over the Home button. To upload a photo, position your cursor over the home button again and you will see Upload Photo and other functions.
